Cypher V is the College of William and Mary's annual hackathon. It's an opportunity for students to come together for a weekend and learn new stuff, create cool projects, and win prizes. This year, our goal is to make the event more accessible and welcoming to everyone, regardless of their skill or experience levels. We hope that Cypher V will be a place for people to innovate and develop things that they had never considered before, so please join us in making this goal a reality!
Cypher V is open to anyone and everyone. Whether you've pioneered new machine learning techniques or you don't know the difference between Python and Java, you're welcome at our hackathon. We want people of all interests and backgrounds to attend, so if you've ever even considered learning more about computer science, now is your time to take the dive.
Cypher V will be held in Earl Gregg Swem Library. The main library on campus, Swem is home to 1,926,900 books, over 1,000,000 visitors per year, and one of the most beloved coffee shops on campus. Swem is a great place for collaboration, and we can't wait to fill it up with hackers. Look forward to lots of open tables, comfy couches, private rooms, and more! Check out the map here.
Available hardware includes: Amazon Alexa Devices, Oculus Rifts, Arduinos, drones, 3D printers, and more!
To be announced!
Anyone and everyone! We will provide workshops for hackers interested in learning something new, and professionals in the industry will be there to mentor you throughout the weekend, if you want.
To be announced!
Any current college student, or anyone who has graduated in the last 12 months is eligible to attend Cypher.
Don't worry if you don't have a team yet. Meeting new people is half the fun - we'll help you find someone to work with! Teams can have a maximum of 4 people.
Come with ideas, but no code can be written prior to the event.
We want this to be a safe and fun event for everyone. All participants are expected to agree to the MLH Code of Conduct.
